Weekly Newsletter II
By Giavanna Difede and Antonio Tabaro
This Week
Our third General Body Meeting (GBM) will take place this week in STZ 103 at 6:00 PM. The curriculum topic for this meeting will be Valuation I, focusing on DCFs, LBOs and Case Studies. We will also be voting for the positions of Treasurer and Co-Director of Curriculum (application deadline is due 09/25/2023 at 11:59PM).
We will also be having our first social this Thursday, directly after our meeting in STZ 103 at 7PM. The social will be held in the same meeting room shortly after we cover curriculum topic. The social welcomes everyone and offers an excellent opportunity to connect with our team and committee members.
Last Week’s Overview
During GBM 2 on 09/21, we covered Comparable and Precedent Analysis. We discussed project work updates and new opportunities. In addition to the content taught, the Warrington Ventures Board explored a case study on the ARM IPO. The IPO occurred earlier this month and was widely received as a promising sign in the market. Our key takeaways include; post IPO a company’s stock price typically rises 23%, accounting for investor zeal. The lead underwriter, Softbank, has a track record to inflate the valuation of the issuing company. Therefore investors are tempted to forecast a boom in the IPO market. The presentation was led by: Dairon Sanchez, Vinay Krishnadas and Alex Azar.
You can access the presentation slides here.
